This is the new website for the Shire of Riviere Constelle. It is a work in progress and is not yet officially launched. Please take all content as incomplete.

Welcome to the Shire of Riviere Constelle

We are the Shire of Riviere Constelle, a part of the Known World of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). The SCA is an international not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to the study of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The SCA has over 50,000 participants worldwide who recreate many different aspects of these eras, including fighting, fencing, archery, and numerous arts and handcrafts.

The Shire of Riviere Constelle (pronounced ri-vee-air kon-stel-ay) covers Southwest Indiana (DuBois, Gibson, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick counties). We are in the Constellation region within the Middle Kingdom.

We invite you to come join us at one of our meetings, events, classes or practices. Come and “get medieval” with us for fun!

The SCA is open to people of all ages.

New to the SCA?

Are we your first introduction to the Society for Creative Anachronism? Welcome in! We’d love to help connect you with the elements of the society that are most interested to you. Here are some resources to get started:

  • Reach out to us on our social media! Our most active community is on Discord. We also have a private Facebook group. Our newcomer liaison (also called the chatelaine) is Faustus Einhorn. Say hi to him if you see him on socials or practices and he’ll give you a hand!
  • Come to one of our many regular events or meetings.
  • Check out the main SCA newcomer portal. There’s a lot of great information on any topic you can imagine.
